Description
Acrylic on canvas. 36" x 48". Framed. 2026
This scene in Nolita captures so much of what I love about a quintessential New York street corner, from the familiar crosswalk and pedestrian signals to the individuality of the people passing through. What especially caught my eye was the interplay of light and shadow, and the striped awning echoing the patterns of the crosswalk.
Like all of my paintings, it began with my own photography before evolving through creative choices on the canvas. At this larger scale, I wanted an ordinary moment to feel immersive, almost as though you could step right into the scene.
