There were several foals in the Assateague herd when I visited them. Their peak foaling season is Spring, so it's a great time to go. I was there towards the end of the Spring, so some of the foals were already a few months old, but naturally still very dependent on their mothers.

These two were walking along the water's edge with such natural synchronicity that they looked like they were bonded together. I was lucky that the foal was on my side of the mare so that I could capture this shot.
