When it first launched in 1981, MTV was dedicated to airing music videos and related music entertainment programming. The logo that was originally presented was displayed in a myriad of colors, patterns, and images; this flexible on-air presentation, maintained for most of its existence, was novel for a television network. This is  modern interpretation of the original iconic MTV logo.
