"Shangri La Mallorca Mosaic 3" is a special Shangri La series piece that was exhibited in a museum in Mallorca, Spain in 2023. This was part of a set of six panels, of which only some remain. The Shangri La series is inspired by dreamlike landscapes and the inspiration I’ve felt exploring remote places like Antarctica, the Galápagos, and Belize. These textured works—layered in oil or acrylic—blend abstract forms with bursts of color that hint at trees, blossoms, or distant skies. Painting these imagined worlds became a way for me to find calm after years in a fast-paced career. Each piece is a place to get lost in—a quiet escape, both for me and, I hope, for the viewer.
