Description
Walnut and Copper. 30 x 14 x 14 in. 2025
This sculpture is playful and a little daring. A reminder that joy often lives right on the edge of control.
Inspired by the joy I get from sharing a roller coaster ride with my children, when everything is possible and your stomach lifts in anticipation.
This sculpture is about trusting the ride—about choosing delight, following what lights you up, and letting beauty be something you feel, not just see. A small celebration of play, momentum, and the thrill of staying open to what’s next.
Because life isn’t meant to be watched from the sidelines.
Made to work as both a wall-hanging or table sculpture, this form invites curiosity from every angle. The copper catches the light and shifts as you move past it. Notice the shadows it casts against the nearby surfaces and how it plays with the light. The walnut keeps it rooted, organic, and honest. Freedom and grounding. Motion and pause. Wild fun, beautifully held.
The copper is hand shaped and stitched (some might say "woven") to the live edge walnut wood, paying special attention to emphasize the unique qualities and knots and creating a unique gesture.
