Oil on linen. 24" x 36". White wood floater frame.

Long before the city wakes, Hanoi's markets are already alive. Between midnight and dawn, vendors — mostly women — arrive with greens, flowers, and produce carried fresh from nearby rural plots, often on little more than a bicycle, a shoulder pole, or their own two hands. Every curb, crate, and scrap of pavement becomes a display table; nothing goes to waste, least of all the morning light.

There's a quiet dignity in this routine — the same hands sorting herbs today picked them yesterday, and will tomorrow. Hard work, done humbly, by people who take real pride in what they grow and carry. This painting is a tribute to that unseen hour before we arrive.
