Giclee canvas print with hand-applied artistic knife varnish, framed in white floating frame. 50 x 50 x 2 in framed. 2026

In Tiffany Twisted, the concept of the veil shifts from the ethereal to the psychological. Drawing its title from the lyrics of "Hotel California," the work explores the intricate masks we construct in the pursuit of a curated reality. The subject’s face is rendered in a complex mosaic of multi-colored planes, suggesting a self that is fractured, prismatic, and perhaps built of a thousand different illusions.

The oversized sunglasses act as the primary threshold, reflecting a stark, nocturnal silhouette of the iconic hotel. These lenses do not just hide the eyes; they broadcast an aspirational—yet haunted—narrative. It is a study of the "pretty boys" and the "Mercedes bends" of the mind, where the veil is a gilded cage of our own making. Through high-fidelity color and sharp, geometric forms, the piece captures that specific California tension: the shimmering surface of a dream that one can check into anytime, but never truly leave.

About the artist

Kate DeOssie

Kate DeOssie’s work, coined fun + fine art for design, is known for a distinctive energy and stylistic range that transforms beautiful spaces to be more chic, dynamic and inspired.

Kate’s practice is intentionally expansive, with a portfolio as nuanced and diverse as the modern collector. She moves fluidly between a minimalist aesthetic that offers compositional quietude, an irreverent edge that leans into subversive humor, and effusive, color-rich experiences that capture the essence of a moment.

Whether her work is the serene anchor for a carefully curated room or the ‘wink’ that makes a bold statement, Kate’s art is unified in its polish, soul, and technical mastery, earning its place as a vital element of design-forward spaces.

Both Kate’s studio practice and her trade relationships are rooted in integrity, excellence, and a client-first approach. Formally trained at Brown University (B.A., Visual Art and Economics), Kate works full-time from her dedicated studio in New Jersey.
