Acrylic on Wood Panel. 20 x 16 in.

Still Listening is built through a process of return and response. New concentric layers were added over a pre-existing painting, echoing the slow formation of growth rings and the passage of time. Rather than fully obscuring what came before, moments of the earlier work are intentionally left visible, allowing past marks to remain in conversation with the present surface.

The rings function as both record and rhythm, marking time not as a clean progression but as something that accumulates, overlaps, and remembers. Color and repetition create a sense of quiet focus, drawing the viewer inward toward a center that feels held rather than resolved. What emerges is not a replacement of the earlier painting, but an extension of it—an act of listening to what was already there.

Still Listening reflects an ongoing attention to process, patience, and continuity. It offers space to consider how meaning deepens when we allow earlier layers to speak, and how presence can be sustained through repetition, care, and restraint.
