Mixed media - acetate and acrylic on canvas. 24" x 36".

Layers of vibrant, looping color weave in and out of one another, creating a sense of movement, energy and spontaneity across the canvas. The entire surface is covered with clear, three-dimensional butterflies, adding an unexpected sculptural layer to the work. As light catches the butterflies throughout the day, they reflect, shimmer and cast subtle shadows, allowing the piece to continually shift and change depending on the light and the viewer’s perspective.

The contrast between the bold, playful color and the delicate transparency of the butterflies brings together two recurring elements in my work — movement and transformation — creating a piece that feels joyful, dynamic and constantly evolving.
